4K

During Year 4’s Creative Topic on India 4K researched New Delhi and the nearby city of Agra.  The children discovered many great places they would like to visit such as the Taj Mahal, the Indian Gate and the Akshardham Temple.

Photos of these attractions were then used by the children to make their own paintings in the style of an Impressionist Painter.  The children learnt about other Impressionist Artists such as Monet and Degas and the skills that they needed to paint in their style.

The children began by painting their paper with a cream wash.  They then used small brush strokes of primary colours which they could only mix on their paper, not on a mixing pallet.  It was a challenging job but all of the children produced a fantastic impressionist painting of their chosen Indian attraction.
