As part of our cross-curricular topic about the sea, we
spent the morning on the beach at Bordeaux on a cold a misty day in March.
During the morning we worked with renowned local
photographer Nick Després who taught us how to compose great photos.
He taught us many tricks of the trade such as how to use angles and
lighting and ‘the rule of thirds’.

We then edited our photos and participated in a
photographer of the year competition judged by Nick.
Here are some of our class’s best photos.
We also used the work of environmental artist Andy Goldsworthy
to inspire our own beach art using only materials we found on the beach.
